Ememe Town — this is a town where AI characters live freely. With generative AI technology, NPCs (Non-Player Characters) autonomously engage in conversations, take actions, build relationships between characters, and live their everyday lives as they please. You can create a reality drama with AI characters, as if it were the Truman Show, by creating new AI characters living in this town, setting their personalities, and sometimes intervening in their actions. AI automatically generates a daily schedule based on your NPC's personality. They might oversleep, skip meals, rush to school, have silly conversations with friends, come back, stay up a bit late on social media, and then go to sleep... AI generates such daily life of your favorite character. NPC conversations are generated in real-time by LLM. And animations, too! Using our proprietary technology, AI predicts and outputs appropriate facial expressions and body animations from over 1,000 motion data options based on conversations and schedules. Your character will come to life, laugh, dance, and automatically output 3D animations without the need for complex development techniques. You can freely converse with AI characters! By taking on the inner voice of NPCs or becoming other NPCs in conversation, you can influence actions of NPCs. Encourage them to skip school or badmouth their boyfriend... Let’s see what NPCs do! (Don’t go overboard with pranking AI though.) In this town, unexpected events sometimes occur. Meteor collisions, visits from aliens, winning the lottery, murder cases... and you can create these events! Create slightly spicy surprising events and throw NPCs into the whirlwind of confusion. At Hephaistos, we are revolutionising the chemical, agricultural, and pharmaceutical industries with our innovative approach to enzyme catalysis. In today's rapidly evolving industries, the demand for efficient and sustainable processes is greater than ever. Conventional chemical synthesis, which is at the core of many industrial processes today, often relies on harsh conditions, toxic reagents and requires substantial energy, making it both environmentally and economically inefficient. However, nature itself presents a solution: enzymes. These natural biocatalysts operate under mild conditions, with high specificity and precision, create minimal by-products, while catalysing the same reactions used in conventional chemical synthesis. Despite their immense potential, suitable enzymes for all industrial applications are not always already found in nature. To solve this problem, we have created Hephaistos, a machine-learning (ML) model that learns from atomistic 3D structure data of existing enzymes. By using cutting-edge tools in protein engineering and bioinformatics, our model will be able to generate novel catalytic cores for any desired reaction – even on substrates not found in nature. We do not compete with existing enzymes, but instead create entirely new ones....

After improving the system in October, we now offer weekly movement sessions in three care homes until the end of 2025. Our goal is to make exercise fun, easy to use, and possible without staff support. Next, we plan to involve students as session leaders and later create a version that residents can use more independently. I, Aurel Berger, am a Movement Scientist from ETH Zurich and was inspired by my own grandparents’ struggles with mobility loss and rehabilitation. After finding out that SPH doesn't recycle its waste plastic from the 3D printers, I wanted to do something about that. Recycling these plastics is possible, and with enough care taken to sort them, they can be reused for 3D printing with results comparable to original filament. The extrusion is then carried out with an Artme MK3. Most of the input material is failed 3D prints, design iterations, and support material. That needs to be sorted for a high quality result, removing impurities and other types of plastics. One difficulty for reaching a good quality result is purity: PLA and PETG need to be reliably separated. After shredding into granules, the material is extruded into 1.75+/-0.03mm filament. This is comparable to Prusa's commercial PRUSAMENT at 1.75+/-0.02mm. ...

Swissloop Tunneling is a student association aiming at innovating tunneling technologies by developing micro tunnel boring machines (MTBMS) and participating in international competitions, such as Elon Musk's and The Boring Company's Not-A-Boring Competition.After its founding in August 2020, the team has participated in all three iterations of the NABC in the USA, winning the second place and design & innovation awards twice in 2021 and 2023 as well as winning the entire competition and the champion award in the latest iteration of the NABC.In addition to the volunteers students from various engineering and business backgrounds, the association offers the opportunity for students to conduct research projects such as bachelor's and master's theses in collaboration with various departments at ETH and other universities....

We are two co-founders developing bio-acoustic technologies to measure the state of biodiversity. The aim of Synature is to make biodiversity quantifiable and to therefore enable a better co-existence of humans and nature. This involves recording sound and using AI and signal processing to analyse the gathered data. Synature has a holistic offering including smart microphones that send audio recordings from the field, automated analysis of the gathered data and a dashboard that displays the data in an easy-to-understand way.Highlights of Synature include a paid pilot project with the Swiss National Park and the Yellowstone National Park focusing on acoustic wolf detection, media appearances on national television, market exploration in South Africa and India, paid pilot projects in Valais and Paris and multiple awards....

The Student Biolab is a platform and a community for students to design, prototype, and implement their life science research and product ideas. We are a group of motivated students, sharing biology and biotechnology as common passion. Our team is extremely interdisciplinary: we are biologists, engineers, computer scientists. We were born last February but we have already achieved an important milestone: having our own wet lab. Here we run experimental workshops, build startup prototypes and, in general, meet with passionate people to share thoughts and ideas. Our lab is a place where to work on your own project; we are equipped with modern biology instrumentation that can be freely used. But that’s not all. Our current mission is to uncover and craft the mechanics through which commerce will be conducted in a 5 year horizon. We are currently building Châtaigne, a service that allows restaurants to sell their food fully automatically, through natural language, on WhatsApp. We met at a San Francisco hackathon where we built Pay Parrot, a conversational commerce tool using LLMs, Stripe, and WhatsApp and won first place.After lunch with Stripe's CTO John Collison, we realized conversational interfaces could transform commerce entirely. We returned to Switzerland obsessed with the idea and launched Châtaigne to tackle food delivery first, choosing the industry's complexity as our proving ground....
