Swissloop Tunneling is a student association aiming at innovating tunneling technologies by developing micro tunnel boring machines (MTBMS) and participating in international competitions, such as Elon Musk's and The Boring Company's Not-A-Boring Competition.After its founding in August 2020, the team has participated in all three iterations of the NABC in the USA, winning the second place and design & innovation awards twice in 2021 and 2023 as well as winning the entire competition and the champion award in the latest iteration of the NABC.In addition to the volunteers students from various engineering and business backgrounds, the association offers the opportunity for students to conduct research projects such as bachelor's and master's theses in collaboration with various departments at ETH and other universities....

We are two co-founders developing bio-acoustic technologies to measure the state of biodiversity. The aim of Synature is to make biodiversity quantifiable and to therefore enable a better co-existence of humans and nature. This involves recording sound and using AI and signal processing to analyse the gathered data. Synature has a holistic offering including smart microphones that send audio recordings from the field, automated analysis of the gathered data and a dashboard that displays the data in an easy-to-understand way.Highlights of Synature include a paid pilot project with the Swiss National Park and the Yellowstone National Park focusing on acoustic wolf detection, media appearances on national television, market exploration in South Africa and India, paid pilot projects in Valais and Paris and multiple awards....

The Student Biolab is a platform and a community for students to design, prototype, and implement their life science research and product ideas. We are a group of motivated students, sharing biology and biotechnology as common passion. Our team is extremely interdisciplinary: we are biologists, engineers, computer scientists. We were born last February but we have already achieved an important milestone: having our own wet lab. Here we run experimental workshops, build startup prototypes and, in general, meet with passionate people to share thoughts and ideas. Our lab is a place where to work on your own project; we are equipped with modern biology instrumentation that can be freely used. But that’s not all. We are building a strong network with corporate Industry partners, to transform the lab in a space where we can answer to the need and demands of the market. Our current mission is to uncover and craft the mechanics through which commerce will be conducted in a 5 year horizon. We are currently building Châtaigne, a service that allows restaurants to sell their food fully automatically, through natural language, on WhatsApp. We met at a San Francisco hackathon where we built Pay Parrot, a conversational commerce tool using LLMs, Stripe, and WhatsApp and won first place.After lunch with Stripe's CTO John Collison, we realized conversational interfaces could transform commerce entirely. We returned to Switzerland obsessed with the idea and launched Châtaigne to tackle food delivery first, choosing the industry's complexity as our proving ground....
