We are building a dedicated hardware device that transforms the Chess960 draw into a tactile, mechanical experience, moving the starting ritual away from silent screens and back to the physical board.
We have moved beyond the conceptual phase by developing a functional mechanical prototype that successfully demonstrates the tactile randomization of Chess960 positions.

Our main goal is to provide chess clubs and bars with a physical alternative to smartphone apps, making the draw a natural part of the over-the-board experience. We want to help more players discover the creative freedom of Chess960 by making the starting ritual as authentic and tangible as the chess game itself.
The project began when we, two long-term chess fans, noticed a disconnect between the beauty of the game and the improvised ways Chess960 positions are drawn. Watching major events, we felt that using dice or tombola systems lacked the elegance of the sport, sparking our idea for a dedicated hardware device.
Motivated by this gap, we teamed up to build a professional tool that feels like a true chess instrument, designed to bring the ritual of the draw back to the physical board.
